I've been playing for a few hours now, and let me tell you...wow...

Wii sports is pretty entertaining. I cannot get enough of tennis. There's no lag on the controllers, everything just rocks. Zelda, awesome game. Graphics are good, the controls take a little used to, but they feel great and accurate.

I played some of that trauma game, and it's a lot of fun. It's a little nerve racking though because I don't know jack squat about surgeries or anything, so I'm kinda paranoid doing the surgeries, but it's a lot of fun. One of my patients almost died....hahahaha. I need to get back to it and play some more because I've just been glued to Zelda.

The only thing that kinda bothers me is the slot loading blue light around it. Mine doesn't light up, wtf? The only time it lights up is right when I turn it on, it looks like it shorts out, and that's it. It never comes on. Isn't the light supposed to be on when playing a game? Tell me I don't have to go back to eb games and get another one... (IF they even have one )

I also downloaded Mario 64, and what sucks is that I CAN'T PLAY IT!!! I need a gamecube controller or the classic controller...damn! My GC controllers are back home in san francisco, and I didn't get the classic controller. Gonna run down to the neighbors house and see if I can borrow one...I want to see how well Mario 64 runs on the Wii.

Be back in a few...

Oh yeah, and whoever has the Wii, PM your wii number so I can add you to my friends list. We see each other's Mii's and send messages! My Mii character's name is geost.

Glad you are having fun Geo.

How much skill is involved in Tennis? I read on a review you dont even move your character, it does it for you. All you do is swing.

Is Wii sports just a demo thats gonna wear out after a week or is there skill involved?

I just got my Wii and did some training in Wii sports...I have to tell you this, for a lazy slob like me, it's a workout. Especially boxing. Graphics I can understand but the montion needed to actually play has to be there. I have yet to try out Zelda.

Anyone have any idea if you can buy Wii points without having to go through the Wii itself? Been trying to look on Nintendo.com to buy them but I must not be looking hard enough if at all.

For the first time in my life I never seen a card reader that's picky about the types of cards it uses. Apparently the reader IS NOT backwards compatable with the older MMC cards which I have already. Tight budget keeps me from getting a SD card right now.

Remote's a little sensitive and I have to bring it up to my chest since I usually sit 3 to 4 feet away from the TV.

Acutally I find it fun and Zelda: Twilight Princess doesn't require that much movement as far as swinging the remote goes. I can tell you this, it's much harder than the other Zelda titles I played. Possibly because I have to adapt to the new style of control. For a launch game to a new system. Zelda has...sort of an older style feel to it. Nothing like the cartooniness of Gamecube's Wind Waker, but more like Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask if they were given Gamecube graphics. Still kept me glued for a few good hours.

Heh. Figured out the optimal postion for the sensor bar so I can use the remote without having it get out of sync. I had to turn the sensitivty down to 1 which allows for 3ft of room.

Though I can't give a solid review on whether or not I like my Wii or not. Something like this requires me to get a few games, stand up, and play them to the full extent. Experince the different channels, and check up on the Wii's Virtual Console.

I can tell you this much. I remember when I was 10, it took me a month to beat the original Legend of Zelda for the NES. I got it for the Virtual Console; it only took me 3 hours to rush through the first quest.

Check out the comments in this thread about people's Wii impressions. That's a lot of happy people! I think I'm sold - I bet I could get my wife even to play it.

interesting how popular it seems the sports game is.
It's certainly piqued my curiosity.

So I've been reading up on the PS3 and a few places have been saying Sony are losing $250 with every console sold. Now they've sold about 280k....so thats $70m lost.

Ouch.

They're just 'priming the pump'. I'm sure they'll more than make up for it in game sales.

not if it follows the same trend that the japanese release of the ps3 had. 88,000 ps3s were sold... however, there weren't that many games sold. kinda bad when you dont have at least one game per console sold.

the loss per ps3 has to be especially tough with the profits being down 94% as it is.

anyways... i hate sony... long live the wii!

seriously... wii trucks rules, though i must say the lack of online play is an abomination.

i think some of the people here decided they realy needed the Wii, so they went out to camp..

the red steel game doesnt look that bad.
i think you can get a bit more out of the system graphics vise, and work on the gameplay more, you'd get a realy cool game going

Been over a week now since I got my Wii. My main focus is on Zelda and it feels much more in depth than any of the other Zelda games out there. It has the length of the Wind Waker without the tedious amount of sailing and cel shading. With the gameplay more remiscent of the older Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask. The only difference is the use of the Wiimote for primary aiming and swordplay. I do have one gripe about the swordplay, one of the starting moves reqiures thrusting the nunchuck forward. Often times this will execute a whole different move enitrely from the one discovered. But never in my life have I've been in a Zelda game this long without fully beating it yet.

I like the idea of the virtual console but for now; I'm pissed that you can only get Wii-points either by going out to a store and buying the card or using the Wii to shop online for them. And Nintendo doesn't yet have a system, if at all, where you can buy the points directly from the site and have it credited to your Wii.
