Wii Gameplay
http://media.games.ign.com/articles/...d_1657122.html
Some gameplay from Battalion Wars 2, Mario Strikers Charged, Red Steel, Wii Orchestra, Wii Tennis, Wii Baseball and Wii... uh... Duckhunt 2006? Looks very fun. The reporter seemed to get the hang of the controllers. Still no word on how accessing Nintendo's back catalog through the internet will work... |

I'll wait on the Wii until I'm sure there will be a Star Wars game incorporating the new controller with a lightsaber.

I saw it somewhere that Lucasarts was going to use the wii controller for a Jedi game. Which will probably be one thing that may actually get me to get a console for the first time since I got my NES in the mid 80s.

Wii has amazing potential, but I question whether companies will be able to program for the new control system in inventive ways, or if the whole system will feel like a gimmick after a few games.
Also, a lightsaber game would be cool, but how hard will that be to program for? Red Steel, one of the launch games, has a sword you control in first person, but it doesnt follow your every move, just has a lame slash system. I think Wii is gonna be a big hit with shopping parents this holiday season as it will be half the price of the 360 and 1/3 the price of the PS3, but Im not sure its gonna win the console war with its lack of power and non state of the art graphics. This holiday is gonna be a bloody, exciting time for console fans. IG

If they follow the multiplayer strategy they followed with the DS, I think it will end up being stronger then the 360's pay-to-play system. I don't think the PS3 is even in the running. It's a modern day 3DO. |

I can't wait for a star wars game like that. As for being gimmicky... there will be several companies that won't get it and make it too silly... but Nintendo has stated the controller is supposed to be gimmicky. Many 1st party nintendo games have "gimmick modes". The like gimmicky... and I gotta say I do too.

No I luckily avoided that.
Return Fire was the only game that was basically played, that game was awesome. Road Rash wasnt that bad either. Every other game has completly disappeared from my memory. Draw your own conclusions. Although I vaguely remember a game show with full motion video that repeated questions after like the 3rd time we played it. Next Generation indeed... IG

OMFG That was horrible. It was worse than the ending of KOTOR2 (which sucked dead donkey ass big time). It was like watching .... I don't know....it was awful.

Check out the comments in this thread about people's Wii impressions. That's a lot of happy people! I think I'm sold - I bet I could get my wife even to play it.

interesting how popular it seems the sports game is.
It's certainly piqued my curiosity.

So I've been reading up on the PS3 and a few places have been saying Sony are losing $250 with every console sold. Now they've sold about 280k....so thats $70m lost.
Ouch.
